The Eleventh International Symposium of the International Association of Transport Universities of Asian-pacific Countries and the Second Future Scientific and Technological Innovation and Venture Forum Between China and Russia, which lasted for two days, ended successfully on the evening of October 27, 2017 after all the items on the agenda were completed with various international cooperation highlights and innumerable great achievements. As our school actively blended the policy of “the Belt and Road”, adhered to the policy of “opening to the outside world” of Henan and greatly promoted the school business development to be internationalized, the International Symposium was finally held in Zhengzhou. As a core member of the International Association of Transport Universities of Asian-pacific Countries, we took the initiative to carry out various teaching, scientific research and academic exchange activities with other members and actively filed an application to organize the Eleventh International Symposium of the International Association of Transport Universities of Asian-pacific Countries and the Second Future Scientific and Technological Innovation and Venture Forum Between China and Russia.
Before the Symposium, the International Association of Transport Universities of Asian-pacific Countries held a preparatory meeting, and Li Xuewei, the chairman of the International Association of Transport Universities of Asian-pacific Countries and the president of Beijing Union University delivered a 3-year work summary report for the Association. Several decision items, such as the updated Articles of Association, the Zhengzhou Declaration and the new membership were reviewed and approved in the meeting and it was decided to set Zhengzhou, Henan as the permanent place of the Association. After that, a general election took place to generate a new list of association members. Kong Fanshi, the president of our school was elected as the vice chairman and secretary general of the Association. In the meeting, our school was elected as the deputy director general unit of the Transportation Education Alliance of Henan Colleges and Universities. It is the first time for a vocational college in Henan to serve as the vice chairman and secretary general unit in such an influential international origination, enabling Henan to possibly display its education to the world and earn a reputation for its education. Since then, the school will have a seat in the international organization and be able to speak in the international symposium, greatly increasing the international influence of the school and manifesting the soft power of the school. As the International Association of Transport Universities of Asian-pacific Countries settled the secretariat in our school, our school has decided to select and assign some special personnel, provide a special fund and special rooms and perfect our working system, guaranteeing the daily work of the Association to be carried out smoothly.
